They’re Here — Our First T-Shirts Have Landed!

We ordered our first batch of t-shirts on a random Tuesday. Once the delivery tracking updated, the excitement kicked in — waiting by the window, listening out for delivery vans. We were about to see our designs on actual t-shirts for the first time.

The Tees Arrived!

When the box finally arrived with our 25 tees, we tore it open and each grabbed one to try on. The quality, the colours — everything was perfect. It felt surreal. From there, things got into full swing as we started arranging photoshoots and preparing for launch.

The Duk Collection

The “Surprise Mother Quacker” design grew from the redesign of the Penelope Designs Creative Studio (PDCS) logo. The idea came to us one weekend when Alex pointed out the little duck icon in the logo and said, “I’d wear that.” That’s where it all started. We began brainstorming phrases — fun, cheeky duck-themed lines — and before long, we had our first concept.

This marks the beginning of our Duk Collection, the first to launch under PDCS. But it’s only the start — we’ve got plenty more designs simmering away in the background, ready to hatch soon.

Photoshoots & Website Prep

Photoshoots quickly followed. Alex modelled the first tee in a suburban car park for that clean, city feel. Then our best friend Lucy stepped in next — we shot at Duthie Park in Aberdeen during golden hour. The autumn leaves, the sunset, the whole vibe was perfect.

Website prep was Iona’s favourite part (she loves websites). We first started building on Shopify, but soon found a new platform (this one!) that gave us more freedom to bring our ideas to life exactly how we imagined.
