My creative design process matters more than ever this year. The great thing about being creative is that inspiration can come from absolutely anywhere. Just this morning, a beautiful orange sunrise filled me with ideas — colour palettes, paintings, and that familiar urge to create.

Most of my designs start as simple pencil drawings. Sometimes that’s on paper, but lately it’s been on my iPad, especially as I’ve been focusing more on creating prints. I’ve been making a real effort to get ideas down quickly, without worrying about making them perfect the first time. Rough around the edges can be a style in itself.

A hand with a stylus sketches a design on a tablet, showing playful text "BERRY" and "EST. 2025," on a wooden table with a spiral notebook.

Turning a design digital is where everything really comes to life. Choosing colours, refining shapes, and keeping things bold but simple is one of my favourite parts of the process. It’s where an idea starts to feel real.

This year, I’m designing with trends in mind more than ever. I want to be aware of what people are drawn to and what they want to wear or hang in their homes — while still adapting those ideas to fit the PDCS style. It’s about finding that balance between trend-led and authentic.

The part that never gets old is seeing the finished product live on the website. It marks all the hard work, refining and problem-solving that happens behind the scenes, and it always feels like a small achievement in itself.

My creative process matters — especially this year. Everything I design for PDCS is done with my 2026 goals in mind, focusing on intention, quality, and enjoying the journey rather than rushing the outcome.

Feel free to explore the shop, and keep an eye out for upcoming print drops — there’s one coming very soon.
